Budding rapper Stayput debuts Rango EP – its an appropriate introduction

Read Time:1 Minute, 11 Seconds

Rango EP is officially out after weeks of teasers on the Internet by Stayput and his Reekods records. The social media age allows artists to create fan bases, hype and even to communicate relevant information. In a calculated move to make known the forthcoming (then) Rango EP, Stayput teased lyrics and cover art preparing us to his impressive debut.

Stayput is a budding rapper who for the past two years has been involved in Ugandan hip hop circles, studying and preparing to make a mark low-key. At the beginning of this year word of Rango surfaced and more vocally online, an atmosphere he seems comfortable.

The EP has influences from the old hip hop era and the new with an appreciation of Afro sounds as it is on “Joacita”. Nase Avatar s the only well-known production contributor on the project and the rest are yet to be known acts and producers.

For a newbie the EP does the duty it was set for: introduce Stayput as he likens himself on “Rango” as Rango (a character from an animation of the same name). His creative self, roots, love for good music and education is all felt on the project and he implicitly says he is coming for whatever titles or positions in the music business.
