Don’t Worry: The Mith sets tone for The Ugandan 2

Don’t Worry: The Mith sets tone for The Ugandan 2

Read Time:1 Minute, 12 Seconds

“My dear don’t you worry” is the opening line to the new catchy “Don’t Worry” by Mr. So UG. Immediately you hear it, you know you are in for one infectious hook.

A blend of Ugandan percussion drums which could be traced to/ linked to Buganda and Bunyoli – more like a signature for his origins follow. Kadodi? Mr. Mayanja aka The Mith is definitely in his bag. The production of this song is passionate and directional.

The Mith picks from his previous energy on Systeemu EP a prelude to The Ugandan Album 2. He merges this with his playfulness and ear for the catchy beats and lines. The song is caption-able like he was writing for Social media and yet this is what he has done way before social media – his pen is crisp.

He has set a tone for The Ugandan 2, his forthcoming album supposedly dropping this year.

“Don’t Worry” produced by Melanin Boy, reminds me of the attempts Mr. So UG has always made to sing; for instance on the previous EP on songs like “Gwa Asinga”. DW offers a similar and more refined Luganda and English hook, credited to J. Kibirige (Yese Oman Rafiki), D. Kigozi. (Navio), D. Musisi (Dagg Mizzo).

This song has potential for a Ugandan rap crossover and bridging the gap for numerous rap fans. It is so UG!
