The Mith has told us for years, when it comes to representing Uganda he is the ambassador to trust. On his latest venture he is transcending culture (Hip Hop) as media/show host on The So UG Podcast (coined from his moniker Mr. So UG). The Uganda Ambassador has a show for us.
The Mith used to host Smash, an urban music show, he is no stranger to journaling or media. He has (been putting) put himself to the challenge to always contribute to Ugandan Hip Hop as one of the earliest practitioners. The So UG Podcast is a perfect avenue which is an initiative to document Ugandan Hip Hop. In his So UG or Ugandan ecosystem, he has added a voice for all contributing within and for Hip Hop.
The TSUP debut episode is with Lyrical G, most call a god father of Ugandan Hip Hop. At the earliest inception, he was there and inspired much as mentored many. On this first episode Lyrical G takes us to the scene as early as 1998, through the years up to now. His journey is eventful from his first album Live From East Africa to working with artistes from Uganda and beyond. LG explores the moments that we might have sought for from mainstream media wouldn’t find. The Mith did an exceptional job here.
This new platform is such a win for Ugandan Hip Hop culture. There have been few platforms that one can tune is for the culture purely. Now besides The NuveyLive podcast, The Tribe UG Podcast, you can now listen to yet another platform celebrating Ugandan Hip hop. According to The Mith, more episodes will be released from this March till December. We cannot wait for what’s ahead and especially the conversations.
