GNL Zamba is more than ready to release his new album very soon on 11th November. To give us a taste of what could be on the album thematically, he has shared a prelude “Rhapsody For Freedom” The 11 minutes spoken word piece talks about racism in the world and especially in America where he is residing – In itself the project explores injustices Africans all over the world have gone through.
Baru apparently mastered this project which is likely an indicator that he is/ has been working on some tracks on The Spear, If not the entire album.
Back home here, the hashtag #StopPoliceBrutality has been trending on Ugandan twitter. The initiative is to gift against police violence on Ugandans. “Rhapsody For Freedom” correlates in part with the intention to stop injustices. The contents of the poem comment to current events in the world and GNL is likely aiming for a more global audience. This prelude suggests themes will cut across the globe and intended for Afro-futurism, freedom and more.
