The Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards popularly known as the ASFAS are back. Two years after the pandemic, it’s safe to say that Africa’s biggest and most anticipated Red carpet event will be taking place again on December 16 at the Kampala Serena Hotel under the theme ” The Awakening ”

The awards recognise and celebrate different artists, models, media personalities to mention but a few for their contribution to the Fashion Industry. This years nomination was held at La Terraza rooftop in Kisementi where the final nominee list was presented.

“Come December 16, we, therefore, promise another mind-blowing experience at Africa’s biggest fashion event,” Brain Ahumuza the founder of the awards said at the nominee release dinner.

Gracing the Most stylish Male Artist of the year category was none other than Hip-hop mogul GNL Zamba and Afrobeat Rapper Fik Fameica who are well known for their iconic looks both on and off screen. It’s no surprise that GNL, with his very Afrocentric and unique style appeared on the nominee list. Fik Fameica has also been a great influence towards fashion with his FRESH BWOY STYLE that has been warmly welcomed by the Youth today. He used to be a stylist for some Ugandan celebrities and has a fashion background.

The two will be competing for this award with other well known artists like Grenade official, Rickman Manrick and the lady’s man, Zulitums.

Music and fashion

More still, Nsimbi (a duo of rapper, poet GNL Zamba and his wife and singer Miriam Tamar ) are also nominated for Fashionable Music Video of the year with the song “Mbaga”. The video costumes showcases a variety of fashion trends.
