On Saturday 5th November, Flex D’ Paper finally released the visual for his song CHEPTEGEI. The banger produced by Mio Made features Navio, Fik Fameica and Mozelo Kidz.

Director Wax worked on the video and Samurae who mixed and mastered the track also did an amazing job on the piece. Flex D’ Paper’s lyrical genius, the catch phrase “Cheptegei”, the catchy beat and the incredible visuals are what attract your attention first. Flex says the song was written as a tribute to the living Ugandan legend Joshua Cheptegei who brought back glory to Uganda when he won the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres in the 2018 Common Wealth Games.

While putting together his album The Kampala Boy, Flex reached out to Navio, Fik Fameica and Mozello who were eager to jump on the Cheptegei project with him, the rest is history. The catchy song is a single off Flex’s debut album released last year, (2021) December 10.

There is a phrase “run your game like Cheptegei” on the track, “basically I mean, whatever your game is, whatever field of work you are in, you should be confident enough to believe you can run it and win at it.” Flex said.

The mood in the video is celebratory as the four rappers pay homage to the marathon man Cheptegei, Chess Player Robert Katende and the rest of the Ugandan Sports Community.
